How to Spice up Your Life with a Little Winter Romance

There is nothing more inviting during the coldest months of the year than to be able to cuddle up to a warm body. Winter can be considered a very romantic time of the year.

If you are wondering how such a bitter, cold, snowy day can possibly be romantic just think of all the ways you can have winter fun. Have you ever tried skiing? Or sledding? If you dress up warm it can actually be quite a fun time.

If you like the outdoors and are a kid at heart you might also engage in a “friendly” snowball fight, make a snowman, or create snow angels. Once in awhile you may even be greeted by a winter bird or two.

Taking a walk after a fresh-fallen snow can be romantic as well, especially when you find a patch of broken ice where a small current of water is flowing through at rapid speed.

Of course, another characteristic of winter romance is cuddling by a warm indoor fireplace. If you do not have access to a fireplace, perhaps you at least have a good-working heating system and a large-screen television.

You can purchase a video recording of a flickering fireplace and have a simulated romantic experience just as good as the real fireplace scene. (The simulated option can also be safer than the real thing.)

Other romantic activities often enjoyed on a cold day include giving and receiving massages, watching a newly-released movie, or baking cookies together. You can also dim the lights and put on some soft dancing music.

Additional miscellaneous ideas for setting the right mood for your romantic winter evening or weekend would be to make your winter home or cabin smell just right. Often people will burn oils scented with pine, cinnamon, or vanilla. This aroma will infiltrate the entire home and will help you relax even more.

You might also consider taking a long, hot bath together. This is an especially enjoyable activity if you own or rent a place with a hot tub or Jacuzzi installed for greater relaxation.

Usually setting the right scene will help you and your significant other to feel more relaxed. This will usually lead to more meaningful conversation, and of course a more meaningful and intimate sexual experience. Perhaps you will even fall deeper in love than you ever have before.

The success of your winter romance depends upon how much you are willing to put into it. However, be careful not to set your expectations too high. Remember, you are two imperfect people living in an imperfect world.

Try to make the most of the time you have together in spite of any unforeseen minor setbacks on your vacation (perhaps your garbage disposal gets clogged or you lose a credit card that can be cancelled right away).

The hope is that you will have a good time no matter what happens and you can laugh about the mishaps for years to come.
