Keep Him Hooked! How to Not to Turn your Man off

There are sure ways to keep a man hooked and definite ways to turn a man off. It is important for you to realize this before it is too late-before you turned away every last man who would have ever possibly been right for you.

One of the most distasteful things to a man is when a woman makes generalizations about “all men”. For instance, they hate it when they hear comments such as “all men are jerks” or “no man can be trusted”.  How can you possibly expect a decent man to get past all that cynicism, let along want to plan a second date with you?

True, there are some exceptions. Some men will use your cynicism as a tool to “play you.” He will make comments such as “I would never hurt you” or “I’m not like other guys”. From this point on, it becomes a game to prove who is right-you or the man.

In the end you will most likely lose, because the relationship you are forming will be based on power-not trust. Furthermore, this game-playing will most likely not lead to a happy marriage, but end up in bitter divorce. Therefore, leave the baggage behind if you want to keep that good man around.

Another turn-off to a man is women being overly-competitive to other women. If you have something negative to say about every other woman you and your man come in contact with, he may wonder if you have something to hide. Furthermore, he might become afraid that you are over-possessive. 

Moreover,   a man may lose respect for you if you cannot win his affection in a more “honest” way, such as by being yourself and showing off your best qualities.  Forget about the other women and just concentrate on why you are worth it.  

You do not need to resort to immaturity-cutting down other women to make yourself feel better-in an attempt to “look” better to a man. That game is for adolescents, which you most likely are not. Even if you are a teenager reading this, you can learn from it as well. A good man will see you for who you really are if you let him.

Aside from all of the above, there is probably one negative attribute that can turn a man off most of all. A man cannot stand a woman who is overly-clingy.  If you appear to need a man around all the time it will scare him away. You need to be secure in yourself-with or without a man around.

Other than that, if you appear uninterested in a man in any way it can also be a turn-off. In this case, it may be because the man was discouraged, as he genuinely liked you. 
 
Unless you do not feel the same way towards a man showing interested in you, unresponsiveness can keep you wondering why he didn’t make any more effort.  For instance, if he tries to initiate a conversation with you and you only respond back with short phrases he may think you are not interested in him at all. 

This would be a shame, especially if you really did have feelings for him. A man can only do so much, and you need to meet him halfway. That is the best way to keep a man hooked-and not turn him off.
